The Role of Family and Wali
How parents and a wali can help a Pakistani Muslim rishta without taking over. Hamsar is not a religious ruling.
This is not a fatwa
Many Pakistani Muslim families involve a wali in a marriage contract, and schools of thought differ on the details. Hamsar does not decide that fiqh for you. What the product can do is narrower: show when a profile is managed by a parent or guardian, keep the conversation respectful, and require that the person getting married is an adult who has agreed to be here.
A labelled profile is not a hidden account
If a mother or father runs the profile, the other family should be able to tell. The label is that signal. The wali is not given a second secret login. They can sit in the room, join a call, or read with the person. They should not pretend to be the person getting married.
The adult still has to want the marriage. Family help is not a substitute for that yes. Pressure, threats, or a refusal to let the person speak are reasons to stop, even when everyone involved is related to you.
What helpful parents actually do
They ask the questions in the previous guide: city, work, children, a previous marriage. They attend a call when invited. They decline politely. They do not send money, they do not collect identity scans, and they do not shop for a spouse as if the person were absent. On Hamsar, report and block are available when a conversation turns cruel.
When family custom and the person diverge
Some households expect a wali at every step. Some adults want their parents informed and still want to speak for themselves. Say which pattern you are using, in the profile, before feelings are involved. A surprise parent on a call is not a moral victory. It is an ambush. Agree the guest list the way you would agree a meeting place.
This is general guidance. It is not a religious ruling, legal advice, or immigration advice.
