How to Find a Rishta Safely Online
Practical steps for a Muslim rishta online: stay on the platform, involve family, and refuse money. No success claims.
Start where marriage is the point
If you want a shadi, use a matrimonial platform on purpose. A casual app will not become serious because you hope it will. Hamsar is for adults, 18 and over, who are looking for marriage. You can make your own profile or a parent or guardian can make one, and a family-managed profile is labelled so the other person can see that.
Write only what you are willing to stand behind: city, work in ordinary words, marital status, and whether you want children discussed later. Leave caste blank if you do not want it used. The product does not infer religion, ethnicity, or income from other fields.
Keep the early weeks on the platform
Interest is not a chat. On Hamsar, messaging opens after both people accept. While restricted-contact mode is on, phone numbers, email addresses, and links are blocked in chat. That is deliberate. Moving to WhatsApp on day one is how families lose the report button and how scammers leave the record behind.
A video call with a parent, wali, or other trusted adult is a reasonable next step when you are both comfortable. It is not rude to ask for that. It is rude to demand it at midnight or to record someone without asking.
Money ends the conversation
A real proposal does not need a transfer to prove sincerity, to release a profile, to buy a ticket, or to pay a supposed official. Hamsar will never ask you to pay a member. Membership, if you choose a paid plan, is charged by the platform and the price is shown before you pay. That fee is optional and separate from identity checks.
Slow down when the story moves
Inconsistent age, city, or job is a reason to pause, not a reason to be polite and continue. Ask once, in a normal tone. If the answer changes again, stop and use block or report. You do not owe a second chance to someone who will not give a straight account of where they live.
Meet in a public place or with family when you do meet. Tell someone where you are going. Do not share a home address, CNIC, or passport to speed a feeling along. Safety tools inside the product exist for this; the scam guide on this site lists the patterns we see described again and again.
This is general guidance. It is not a religious ruling, legal advice, or immigration advice.
