Rishta Questions, Answered Honestly
Straight answers about Hamsar: marriage not dating, photos, phone numbers, fees, city counts, visas, and Urdu pages.
Is Hamsar a dating app?
No. It is a matrimonial platform for adults seeking marriage. Casual dating is not the purpose of the product.
Who can join?
Adults aged 18 or over. You confirm that when you register. Profiles are for serious marriage proposals, including people living in Pakistan and overseas Pakistanis.
Can parents create a profile?
Yes. A parent or guardian can manage a profile, and family-managed profiles are labelled in conversation. The adult whose marriage it is still has to consent. Hamsar does not add the wali as a second hidden account.
Are photos public?
The owner chooses public, blurred, on request, or hidden for each photo. Blurred shows a blurred preview, not the original. On request shows a clear photo only after the owner approves that person. New photos default to on request.
Will my phone number be visible?
No. Phone numbers and email addresses are not shown on public profiles. While restricted-contact mode is on, chat blocks phone numbers, email addresses, and links.
Does it cost money?
You can start without paying. Paid plans are optional. The price is set by administrators and shown before you pay. A paid plan is not an identity verification, and Hamsar will not ask you to pay a member directly.
How many members are in my city?
We do not publish member totals, and the city pages do not list real profiles. Find Matches shows people who have published a profile and allowed it to be discoverable. An empty result means nobody matched those filters, not a hidden number.
Do you arrange visas for overseas rishta?
No. Hamsar is not an immigration service, a sponsor, or a law firm. Families should decide who would move and then use their own official channels. Never pay a match who offers to arrange paperwork.
Is the site in Urdu?
Yes. Public pages are in English and Urdu. Switch language from the footer or the header. Urdu addresses use /ur and English addresses use /en.
